The Club President, Mike Jennings (on the right in the photograph below) presented George with a commemorative plaque which will be displayed in the club to become a part of its long history.
Paul Dukes-Thomas made an excellent and amusing speech about incidents and memories over those years and presented George with a cut glass decanter from the players as a memento of their time together”.
George responded with some fine words about what those years of captaincy had meant to him. George’s wife Sue Hicks, The President’s wife Gill Jennings and many club members enjoyed an evening of food, drink and good company.
The night was rounded off with a fun snooker knock-out competition which was won by Paul Dukes-Thomas from Kevin Richards.
Paul had the audacity to knock his former captain out in the second round.
